Makeovers Will Be Offered By PCC 08/28/2002: Summer’s a perfect time for a makeover and Polk Community College has a package of workshops that focus on the way women look at things, rather than how they look. The educational series known as “Millennium Woman Makeover” will be held in May, June and July on the Lakeland campus. Here’s the series schedule: · Leadership Lessons, May 22, 3 to 5 p.m.- Vickie L. Haberbosch, author of “Lessons Learned in the Desert: Lessons of Leadership and Character.” will pass along leadership and character principles she’s learned from her 15 years of leadership experience. Her session, punctuated with hilarious anecdotes from the Gulf War, will help everyone get to the top and stay there. · Women’s Leadership Roles, June 26, 3 to 5 p.m.- J. Lenora Bresler, leads a workshop entitled: “Women as Leaders: Are We Different?” She’ll present an often-humorous review of the leadership roles women have played in history and business. The session will also feature a candid discussion of how women often differ from men in leadership style and how those differences are the key to obtaining and thriving in leadership roles during the 21st century. ·
Effective Communication, July 24, 3 to 5 p.m.-
Stacy Campbell-Domineck, will present a workshop entitled “I am
Woman, Hear Me Roar.” Stacy will illustrate how others hear your message.
Your body language and tone of voice have more influence on your
audience than you may realize. She also will focus on how communication
differs between Venus and Mars and how you can learn the difference. For more information
