QUESTION #1
HAVE YOU EVER USED THE PCC LIBRARY?
22% of the PCC students answered A
Just moments ago! I go there all the time I
love it there.
I wish you would rent rooms.
22% In 2002 16% of students answered A and in 2001 35% answered A. That doesn't look so good.
61% of the WH PCC students answered "B"
I have been there several times - I have witnesses.
In 2002 55% of students answered B and in 2001 47% answered B. That looks good.
9% of the WH PCC students answered "C"
One time I went to the PCC Library because my instructor made us go - I cried.
In 2002 19% of students answered C and in 2001 5% answered C
7% of the WH PCC students answered "D"
Library? What library?
In 2002 3% of the students answered D and in
2001 12% of students answered D.
So, overall I guess we are loosing ground? Where did they go? What can we
do? I'm depressed already, I don't think I can go on with the rest of this
survey report now. I need a hug.
QUESTION #2
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION? DO YOU USE OTHER LIBRARIES?
35% of the WH PCC students answered "A"
I'm a library freak. I use the online library stuff and the "real" physical library stuff too!
In 2002 32% of our surveyed students were freaks (library freaks, that is) and in 2001 we didn't have this question so there's not much to say about that.
6% of the WH PCC students answered "B"
I prefer to use the public library - I like it better than the PCC Library.
In 2002 5% of our students chose B and in 2001 we still did not have this question on the survey. However, it should be known that these folks who said they liked the public library better than our very own PCC library are being watched very closely and we know where you live... just kidding : )
10% of the WH PCC Students answered "C"
I prefer bookstores with coffee bars and entertainment.
In 2002 11% of our students answered C. We are still trying to convince the folks with money that this is enough of a student voice to justify some renovation and the construction of a cafe area. Seems you all need to speak up a bit more loudly.
36% of the WH PCC Students answered "D"
I get my information and reading pleasure from the Internet - 'cuz everything is free on the Internet : )
In 2002 44% of students chose answer D.
13% of the WH PCC Students answered "E"
Other
In 2002 only 7% answered other, but again this could mean just about anything - remember these are just numbers...
We still see that the majority of our students prefer to get the majority of their information from the Web. Ya know... we have a lovely PCC Library Web Site with lots of great information just for you -- which brings us to question #3
Oh, and again there was no question 2 before 2002 so I'm not bothering with any chartage for question 2.(yup, it went right from number 1 to number 3)
QUESTION #3
HAVE YOU USED THE PCC LIBRARY'S ELECTRONIC DATABASES (ACADEMIC SEARCH PREMIER, BIOGRAPHY RESOURCE CENTER, MAGILL'S ON LITERATURE, E-BOOKS...) TO FIND ARTICLES FROM MAGAZINES, JOURNALS, NEWSPAPERS, AND REFERENCE MATERIALS QUICKLY AND EASILY FROM THE PCC LIBRARY WEB SITE? (boy that was long)
22% of WH PCC Students answered "A"
I use them all the time- they are a life-saver at 3:00am the night before an assignment is due.
In 2002 25% of the students chose A, in 2001 20% chose answer A.
57% of WH PCC Students answered "B"
I use them when I need them... mostly when my instructor makes us use them.
In 2002 42% of the students chose B, in 2001 51% chose answer B.
7% of WH PCC Students answered "C"
I tried to use them once, but it was too confusing and I still have headaches from the experience.
In 2002 12% chose answer C, in 2001 9% chose answer C.
Poor little confused folks - someone help them please!
13% of WH PCC Students answered "D"
What electronic databases? You mean you can do a lot of this research stuff from home? Why didn't anyone tell me?
In 2002 20% chose answer D, in 2001 19% chose answer D. This is a little sad... the majority of our students get their information from the Web AND less of them don't know about us or use our stuff. We will just have to try harder -- and you probably won't like that... remember, we know where you live.
