How Do You Find Quality Websites?

Basically you have two choices:

1. Evalutate them yourself

2. Have someone else evaluate them for you

Remember:All websites are not created equal.
Despite the hype, information on the Internet can often be inaccurate, out of date, misleading or just plain wrong.

1. Learn to evaluate sources for yourself
(and we certainly encourage you to do so)

How do you learn to evaluate sources?

There are many good (and fun) tutorials available that can show you ways to assess the quality of the sites you find.

Take a look at UCLA's tutorials:

"Thinking Critically about World Wide Web Resources"

"Hoax? Scholarly Research? Personal Opinion? You Decide!"

2. Have someone else evaluate them for you
(librarians and libraries are great places to find reviewed websites)

The PCC Librarian's Bookmarks include librarian reviewed websites.
We are continually collecting and organizing reliable and useful Internet resources by subject for our students.
Feel free to suggest any good sources that you have found that we have not yet collected
