Books: Use an online catalog to find books and other materials in a library's collections.  LINCC is the name of the online catalog for Polk Community College and all of the public community colleges in Florida.  LINCC is a specialized type of database that indexes the collections of the libraries.  Electronic books owned by the library are also cataloged in LINCC.  To use LINCC, click on LIBRARY CATALOGS  from the PCC Library homepage.  Then, select the catalog segment that you wish to search.

 

PCC Periodical Databases: These are resources that provide access to articles in periodicals and in books

 

  1. Choose link on PCC Library page: DATABASES
  2. Login -  Borrower ID = Social Security Number – Type in 9 digit number with NO dashes!  PIN = last 4 digits of your SSN
  3. Select the database you wish to search from the list of click on Databases by Subject

Google has a specialized search engine for retrieving images from the World Wide Web.  Go to the Google site (www.google.com).  Click on Images.  To save an image from a Web page.  Right click on the image and save it to your computer for later use.  Remember, copyright restrictions on the use of images may apply.
