Two Departments, Development Services and Public Services, work together to provide the best service and materials possible for our students, staff and faculty.
Public
Services: Circulation Services and Reference Services (AKA
Public Services ) are the people you will most likely come into
contact with when you come to the library. Together they are known
as "Public Services" because that is what they do - provide service
to our library users. Click on the Public Services link to
review the services and policies
of the PCC libraries.
Development
Services: Behind the scenes, Polk Community College Library Development Services
consists of Collection Development, Acquisitions, Copy Cataloging,
Original Cataloging, Processing, and Serials Control. Development
Services is responsible for selecting and purchasing materials,
bibliographic control and access to collections (cataloging),
preparing the books and other items for inclusion in the
collections, and gathering and reporting statistics on the
collections.
