Welcome!
Information literacy - the ability to locate,
retrieve, select, and use information to satisfy a defined
information need - is a General Education Outcome at Polk
Community College. The PCC Libraries are actively involved
in supporting students and faculty in achieving our information
literacy outcome by making available a variety of information
literacy instructional aids.
This page is intended for use by students and faculty seeking to
advance their knowledge and skills with conducting information
research and with achieving increasingly higher levels of
information literacy. Faculty will also find here
suggestions for information literacy assignments that they can use
as is or modified for use in their classes. PCC Librarians
are available to work with PCC faculty members to design
information literacy assignments or resources to meet their
teaching needs. To begin a collaboration or for more
information, contact Bill Foege, Director, ITS Public Services
