Program Requirements

Two nursing program options are offered: the Generic option for individuals without a current Florida Healthcare license, and the Transition option for individuals holding one of the following current Florida licenses or certificates in a direct patient care health field: Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, X-ray Technologist, or Cardiovascular Technologist. The College seeks to provide as many qualified graduates as feasible, subject to the availability of clinical and academic resources, the existence of community need, and the number of qualified applicants.

Prerequisites for admission into the program:

    • ENC 1101
    • PSY 2012
    • MAC 1105 or MGF 1106
    • BSC 2085C
    • BSC 2086C
    • NUR 1010C (LPNs with a valid Florida license are exempt)
    • Transition Option students must also complete NUR 1140C

After admitted to the nursing program, students are expected to comply with all course and clinical requirements and Department policies in order to remain enrolled in the program.  Details of these requirements are available in course documents and the ADN Policy Manual which is provided to all students each term.
