Revolutionary changes in digital technology have led to an increasing demand for skilled professionals able to think critically; communicate clearly; and create, manage, and deliver high quality media content that is engaging and responsive to the needs of end-users. Consequently, the Digital Multimedia Program at Polk State College is here to help you achieve this career goal.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics lists Multimedia as the 13th most in-demand occupation in IT related fields. Nationally, the need for Graphic Designers is projected at 95,000 between 2006 and 2016, with projected employment of 323,100 by 2016. Digital Multimedia students create or edit images for commercial and promotional needs using a variety of tools to achieve a specific artistic appeal. Additional opportunities for employment can be found in the following areas:
 
  • Newspaper, periodical, book, and directory publishers
  • Advertising and public relations
  • Printing and support services
  • Computer system design and related services
Potential Salary
Salary is determined by the experience and qualifications of the individual. Salaries range from $31,000 - $46,000 annually.
