Business Programs

Business Administration and Management With an associate’s degree in Business Administration, graduates are eligible for a variety of entry-level to middle-management positions at various organizations. These may include wholesale and retail stores, service organizations, financial agencies, banks, large businesses, and government agencies. Students select one of the following specializations: Business Administration, Insurance, Healthcare Administration, and Marketing. Salaries vary from $22,000 to $40,000 based upon the area of specialization and the industry.  
Business Operational Management – This program is designed for graduates of Ridge Career Center and Traviss Career Center who have completed a program of 900 clock hours or more. The program prepares graduates to move into supervisory or management roles in their chosen technical field. Eligible students are awarded 15 credits toward the technical skills portion of the degree. Estimated potential earnings are $22,000 to $40,000.  
Accounting Technology – There is a steady demand for skilled accounting professionals in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Entry-level positions are available in receivables, payables, payroll, and auditing in all types of organizations. The program is also of value to the small business owner. Estimated potential earnings are $25,000 to $31,000.  
Supply Chain Management – The logistics and supply chain management industry provides ever growing career opportunities for highly qualified people needed by virtually every company. The logistics industry is among the fastest growing industries in Florida. This program is designed to prepare students with cross-functional skills necessary for the integration of the business processes. The program curriculum focuses on related business and accounting practices, such as standard policies and operating procedures, negotiation techniques, planning, organizing, logistics concepts, purchasing, and inventory control theory. Emphasis is placed on the development of business and managerial skills necessary for the efficient and effective performance of all operations within a company’s supply chain. The average annual wage in the logistics and distribution industry is $30,000 to $48,000  

Continue your Education in Polk State’s Bachelor of Applied Science. Graduates from the above programs can continue their education in Polk State College’s Bachelor of Applied Science. The degree provides individuals the opportunity to build upon foundational skills attained through their associate degree programs by completing upper-division course work in management and leadership practices.
