New Contractor Safety Class Requirements

Prior to registration for a class, each participant must present a valid, current background check and drug screen. This is to be the responsibility of the contractor. Participants trying to register without a current, valid background check and drug screen will be denied entry into the class. Registration for a class must be completed at least 1 week prior to the class start date. Only pre-registered participants will be allowed entry into the classes. No background check is required for the MSHA Annual Refresher or the New Miner classes.

Participants attendng the Annual Refresher will be required to present their old FPP card. Also, those participants who want to renew their MSHA Annual Refresher Training requirements must present their old MSHA 5000-23 form. All classes are held on the PSC Lakeland campus and start promptly at 7:00 a.m. We ask that you arrive at least 15-30 minutes early to check in. Late comers will be turned away.

     You need to have three (3) required items to be registered in a class:

• A completed PSC registration form.
• A document stating that you have a current, valid background check and drug screen.
• Payment information, either a billing authorization or Visa/MasterCard information completed at the bottom of the form.
• No payment will be accepted on the morning of class.

Contractor Safety Refresher classes are held on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Lakeland campus at a cost of $79.00 per participant. The course and reference numbers and dates and room are listed below:

The MSHA New Miner Training classes are held on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the Lakeland campus, room LLC1132 at a cost of $95.00 per participant. The course and reference numbers and dates are listed below:
