Many
scholarship opportunities are available for students
through the Polk Community College Foundation, Inc. Last
year, the PCC Foundation administered over 600 endowed and
private scholarships.
The PCC Foundation actively
seeks private funding for endowed scholarships. These
endowed scholarships often include special criteria
established by the donor. The PCC Foundation Scholarship
Committee selects applicants based on this stated
criteria.
Endowed Scholarships
The PCC Foundation will begin
accepting applications for endowed scholarships February
1, 2009. The application process will close March 15,
2009.
Applications will be reviewed and
rated by an independent committee and notices will be
e-mailed to all applicants no later than April 30, 2009.
Award certificates will be available for high school
graduation ceremonies May 1, 2009.
Effective February 1, 2009, students
interested in applying for an endowed scholarship may do
so via a link that will be available on this webpage.
Please visit this webpage February 1, 2009 through March
15, 2009 to apply for an endowed scholarship.
PCC Foundation endowed scholarships
will be available for use Fall, 2009 and subsequent terms
until the scholarship is fully expended, expires or
terminates pursuant to donor requirements.
Throughout the academic year, the
Foundation is made aware of other scholarship
opportunities for our students. As those opportunities
come available, we will post them on this webpage. These
scholarships are awarded by entities not affiliated with
the PCC Foundation and questions should be directed to the
sponsoring organization.

ANDREW GLENN FRANCE
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The PCC Foundation is accepting
applications for the Andrew Glenn France Memorial
Scholarship. The deadline for applications is November 1,

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Two-Year Scholarship
This
scholarship is for students planning on attending a
two-year institution in the fall semester. To be eligible,
students must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident,
have demonstrated success with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a
4.0 scale, have engaged in community service within the
previous 12 months or be employed full or part-time, and
be planning on enrolling in at least two courses in the
upcoming fall student at a two-year institution.
Candidates may not be a child or grandchild of Coca-Cola
employees. Students who wish to apply must complete the
application found on the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation
website: www.coca-colascholars.org. This application must
be submitted to
Patricia Jones in the District Office of Academic and
Student Services.
Applications are accepted March 1 through May 1 each year.
Jack Kent
Cooke Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is for students planning on transferring
to a four-year institution in the fall semester. To be
eligible, students must achieve sophomore status the
spring semester prior to transfer
or be a recent graduate of Polk Community College with a
GPA of 3.5 or better. Students who wish to apply must
complete the application found on the
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation website. This
application must be
submitted to
Patricia Jones
in the District Office of Academic and Student Services.
Applications are accepted November 1 through January 13
each year.
