Brad Cook enters his first year as Assistant Coach for the Vikings. Coach Cook brings a wealth of knowledge and will take the reigns as the Vikings Pitching Coach. Before joining the Polk State staff he served as a Pitching Coach at Florida Southern College. The 2010 Mocs' pitching staff finished with the second lowest ERA in the Sunshine State Conference with an ERA of 4.05. Four pitchers from his staff went on to professional baseball this past season including Danny Tillman, second round selection of the Anaheim Angels and All-American Max Russell a fourth round selection also by the Angels.

Prior to Florida Southern, Cook was the Head Baseball Coach at Johnson City (NY) High School for two seasons, leading his team to the Class A State Championship game in 2007. During his tenure he coached a First Team All-State Pitcher and the Class A Player of the Year.

As a player, Cook was a Junior College All-American at Keystone Junior College in La Plume, Pennsylvania before transferring to Division I Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. While at Marist he led the team in ERA in 2002 and Marist's ERA was fourth in the nation. Following his collegiate career,  he played two seasons with the Elmira Pioneers of the independent Norteast League.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Marist College in 2003 and earned his Master's degree in Middle School Mathematics from Walden University in 2007. He has been a special education teacher for the Polk County School District for three years. He currently resides in Winter Haven.
