Workforce Education and Training - With thousands of jobs available, but a lack of skilled and appropriately educated and trained workers, one of the critical impediments to greater manufacturing success in Florida is an industry-ready workforce.  MAF recommends enhancing, increasing, and dedicating workforce education and training funds to prepare workers for manufacturing careers.

Tax Cap on Electricity Fuel Adjustments - The cost of energy has risen dramatically over the past few years and electricity taxes have risen proportionately.  By capping the amount of tax on electricity fuel adjustments, manufacturers would be better insulated  from rising taxes.

Communications Tax Reduction - With telecommunication systems serving as an integral part of the manufacturing business, reducing the tax on communications is supported by MAF.

Property Insurance Reform - Increases in property insurance have Florida manufacturers reevaluating their Florida locations.  MAF urges the Legislature to seek solutions that will lower insurance rates for all Floridians.

Technology Growth Incentives - Manufacturers are faced with decisions about making capital investments in technology every day.  At a time when jobs are more plentiful than people to fill them, encouraging capital investment by manufacturers serves to increase their efficiency, optimally manage their human resources, and increase the value of their workforce.
