The purpose of the Nursing program is to participate as an active
partner in meeting the health care needs of the community by
educating and preparing entry level professional nurses to practice
in a variety of settings. The faculty is committed to the
professional development of the student, the support of the
institution within the community, and the enhancement of the nursing
profession.
The CHS/PCC
Nursing program gets you ready to enter many possible career fields
in Allied Health. You'll complete the prerequisite courses needed to
enter the RN degree program. Our RN program is certified by the
Florida Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League
for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Coding
Specialist- You will acquire the skills to assess the proper health
care documentation of patients and determine the correct
classification code assignments and sequencing, following the Coding
Clinic Guidelines.
A
radiography technician is a licensed professional who is primarily
responsible for applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate portions
of the human anatomy on various imaging modalities.
The OTA
Program trains and qualifies graduates to work in the occupational
therapy career field. You will learn about a vital health care
service whose practitioners use purposeful activity as a means of
preventing, reducing or overcoming physical, social and emotional
disabilities in people of all ages.
The PTA
program prepares students for careers in hands-on, direct patient
care under the guidance of Licensed Physical Therapists.
You must be a
high school junior or senior and have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or
higher to qualify for the CHS. You must have a minimum of 11 high
school credits at the end of your tenth grade year and be on track
for graduation.
