Many scholarship opportunities
are available for students at PCC for academic merit, special
skills, public service and financial need. Some scholarships
are provided by the College through financial aid fees collected
from all students. Additional financial assistance is made available through the generosity of private donors. These donors often use College resources to advertise their available scholarships and distribute and collect applications. The Financial Aid Office places announcements about such scholarships in the "Orange & Green" newsletter and gives instructions about obtaining applications. Students are encouraged to seek out scholarship opportunities available from resources and organizations with which they are already affiliated. These are often the best source of financial assistance since the likelihood of acceptance is much higher than open competition. The Polk Community College Foundation, Inc. has resources that provide scholarships for students. An announcement is made in late February each year. Applications are distributed and collected by the PCC Financial Aid Office. Privately Endowed Scholarships And Trusts |
