CLEP Exams
PCC awards credit for the examinations in the College-Level Examination Program for scores at or above the national 50th percentile on the combined, men-women sophomore norms. Examinations must have been taken in the national administration program of CLEP or institutional administrations using the CLEP Microcomputer Scoring System and transmitting student data to Educational Testing Service.
ADMINISTRATION AND FEES:
CLEP exams are administered every month at Polk Community College on the Winter Haven campus. The only exception is the General exam in English Composition with Essay, which is administered only four times per year - January, April, June and October.
The cost per exam is $43 exam fee and a $10 administration fee. Fees may be paid at the cashier's window on either campus by cash, personal or cashier's check, money order, VISA or MasterCard. Make checks and money orders payable to Polk Community College. Registration must be completed and fees paid at least one week prior to the exam date.
SCORES
Score reports are mailed approximately three weeks after testing for all exams except English Composition with Essay, which takes approximately 10 weeks for scores to be reported. Score reports are mailed to the student and to the college identified as the score recipient at the time of testing. Polk Community College's score recipient code is 5548.
Score reports must be official and sent directly to PCC from CLEP. Official score reports may be obtained by requesting them in writing from ETS. CLEP Program - ETS. P. O. Box 6600, Mail Stop 18Q, Princeton, NJ 08541-6600 or by calling for more information at (609) 771-7865. Cost per official transcript of all CLEP scores if $15 and takes approximately one week to process.

 PEP Exams
 PCC awards credit for examinations in the Proficiency Examination Program of American College Testing for subjects and minimum scores listed below provided the examination is taken in the national administration program. Testing is conducted at Florida Southern College, Testing Center, 142 Ordway Building, Lakeland. Contact the Testing Center at (941) 680-4299 for more information.

 International Baccalaureate
  •  Polk Community College awards credit to International Baccalaureate students using the guidelines established in SBE Rule 6A-10.024 (8). Scores achieved on IB Diploma examinations and the transfer of credit are mandatory under the provisions of the rule in the following manner:
  • Students who have been awarded the IB Diploma are awarded up to thirty (30) semester credits in the subject areas in which they scored four (4) or above on IB Diploma program examinations. The credits are awarded as follows:
    (1)Six (6) semester credits for each IB examination on which they scored five (5) above.(2)Three (3) semester credits for each IB examination on which they scored a four (4)
  • Students who have not been awarded the IB Diploma are awarded six (6) semester credits in the subject areas of each IB higher level examination on which they scored five (5) points or above.
    Courses for which credit is to be awarded are determined by the college and are specified on the student's transcript. No grades or grade points are assigned.
    The standard policies of the College prohibiting credit for overlapping courses apply. No credit is awarded or accepted in transfer that duplicates other credit being awarded or accepted in transfer
