During the March 23, 2009, meeting, the District Board of Trustees authorized the President to finalize the purchase agreement and sign it.

Polk State College took possession of the vacant property on June 16, 2009.

The property is located off U.S. 27 and Massee Road in Haines City, near Heart of Florida Hospital.

The property is approximately 8.5 miles northeast of the Winter Haven campus.

The site is approximately 8 acres in the Civix MedEplex development.

The time schedule for the construction project is unknown at this time.

The State has not authorized funding for design and construction as of June 16, 2009. It is not yet known when funding will be available.

Q: When will ITBs and/or RFPs be released/distributed? A: Setting the schedule for a procurement is the last item to be done when preparing ITBs and/or RFPs (this ensures that the schedule does not "slip" and have to be re-determined if deadlines are not met). When the documents (specifications and terms & conditions) are finalized, the Purchasing Director and the user department's technical expert will meet and set the schedule. Therefore, there is no "set schedule" until that time. When the ITB/RFP documents are completed: 1) It will immediately be posted to the website in PDF/Word format, 2) A blast EMail will be sent to all vendors who are on the Bidder List [only those who have provided Purchasing with their EMail address], and 3) A hard-copy is mailed to all vendors who are on the Bidder List.
