  Polk State Announces “Who’s Who” Honorees

June 23, 2011 - Polk State College has recently announced the “Who’s Who” honorees for the 2010-2011 academic year. Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges is a highly-regarded national recognition of top-performing college students. Students earn this distinction of scholastic achievement through the nominations of faculty and staff.

Each year, this outstanding group of students is awarded selection to Who’s Who Among Students through the presentation of an award certificate and a listing in the annual publication Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

Students listed exemplify the leaders of today’s college students. For more than seventy-six years, Who’s Who Among Students has honored these students nominated by their own colleges for their scholastic and community accomplishments.

According to Dr. Ken Ross, Vice President for Academic and Student Services at Polk State, “We are very proud of the achievements of these students. We aspire to excellence in all that we do, and these men and women are an outstanding example.”

Polk State College was founded in 1964 and has campuses in Winter Haven and Lakeland, as well as academic centers in Lake Wales and Lakeland’s Airside Center. The College awards associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, as well as a variety of workforce training certificates.
