POLK STATE COLLEGE AWARDS 12 HONORS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SPRING 2011
January 10, 2011 - Polk State College has awarded scholarships to 12 outstanding students enrolled in its Honors Program for the spring 2011 term. Honors Program scholarships are given based upon students submitting an essay and having either a 3.5 or higher college grade-point average or having a 3.7 or higher high school grade-point average.
The Polk State College Honors Program scholarship recipients for the spring 2011 term are as follows: LaDonna Gleason of Auburndale, Genisia Green of Lakeland, Robert Hendrix of Lakeland, Sara Jeffrey of Winter Haven, Kelsey Lamb of Plant City, Jamie Maguire of Lakeland, Giselle Marquez of Orlando, Candice Morgan of Winter Haven, Jade Parry of Lakeland, Kim Yen Pham of Lake Wales, Darra Tanner of Winter Haven and Kimberly Victorero of Davenport.
The Polk State College Honors Program is designed for highly motivated students who wish to be challenged by an intellectually stimulating academic curriculum. Honors courses provide alternative approaches to learning that are student-centered and interactive.
