| Daytona Beach, FL --
The Polk Vikings traveled to Daytona State College on Monday
night looking to even up their season series with the
Falcons and avenge their only loss of the year. The Vikings
gave up two quick and easy baskets to start the game and
then quickly came back going up by as many as 13 in the
first half and leading at the break 32-22. The second half
saw a game Daytona State team that cut the lead to seven
before Polk answered and extended their lead to 11 again.
However, the Falcons were able to make a run with about 10
minutes remaining and managed to cut the Polk lead to as
little as 4, 44-40. But the Vikings answered back with a
deciding run of their own, outscoring the Falcons 26-13 the
rest of the way and only allowing 6 points in the final 5
minutes. Polk's next game will be at home on Saturday,
November 22 at 4 pm versus Broward Community College, the
team that put the Vikings out of the FCCAA State Tournament
