| Melbourne, FL --
The Vikings of Polk Community College traveled to Brevard
Community College on Wednesday night for their fifth game of
the year and their second on the road. The game started slow
seeing both teams struggle to score. However, Polk got on
the board first and never looked back. Brevard tried slowing
the game up by playing zone but Polk's experience and
patience allowed them to get good looks and convert on some
long-range shots. Polk's defense was again tough as they led
at the break 28-19. Polk came out looking to push the ball
in the second period and converted on a few transition
baskets to stretch the lead to as many as 17 on more than
one occasion. However, Brevard tried to keep it close with
the hot-shooting of Anthony Jackson but the lead never got
closer than 9. Polk's tough defense continued as they held
BCC to only 41 points on the evening while outscoring them
by 13, 54-41. The Vikings have won 4 straight and their
defense is now ranked 1st in the state (FCCAA) and 8th in
the country (NJCAA). |
