Joe Arnold

Head Coach

2006 - Present

Coach Arnold enters his second year at Polk after 10 years in the New York Yankee organization where he served as a Minor League Manager and East Coast Supervisor of Scouting.  Prior to that he served as the Head Coach at the University of Florida for 11 seasons leading the Gators two College World Series appearances and three SEC titles.  Before arriving on campus in Gainesville he was the Head Coach at Florida Southern College where he won two National Championships and twice named the Division II Coach of the Year .  His overall coaching record is 740 - 313 with a .704 winning percentage.  As a player he was a two time All American at Miami-Dade College where he finished with a combined record of 29 - 2, while being named the MVP of the 1966 Junior College World Series and was recently recognized as a member of the 50th Anniversary Team.  His record of 30 and 2/3 innings pitched at the 1966 Junior College World Series still stands 40 years later.  After Miami-Dade Coach Arnold played for Arizona State University, in one year he compiled an 11 - 1 record giving him a total of 40 wins and 3 loses in three years of collegiate competition.  He has a Masters Degree from Arizona State and has been married to his wife Beverly for 39 years.  They have a daughter Jill and a son Joey with two grandchildren, Abbey and A.J.
