Gloria and Joseph Mattera National Scholarship for Migrant
Children
The Gloria and Joseph Mattera National Scholarship for
Migrant Children is available to migrant farmworker youth
who have the potential and desire to further their education
to achieve their personal and career goals. You must have a
recent history of movement for agricultural employment, with
priority given to interstate migrant youth, and demonstrate
financial need and scholastic potential to be considered for
this award. You must also be enrolled or accepted at an
accredited public or private college, technical or
vocational schools, or a dropout or potential dropout from
high school who shows promise of ability to continue
schooling. A recommendation and an essay are also required.

Rights in the Middle East

Amount: $500-$2000
The "Dream Deferred" Essay Contest on Civil
Rights in the Middle East is available to students who are
25 years old or younger and live in the Middle East or
America. You must submit an essay of 600 to 1500 words
addressing one of the questions listed on the sponsor's Web
site. You must reside in an Arab League member state, Iran,
Afghanistan or the United States to be eligible for this
contest.
