Florida Virtual School,

- Students can opt to take some or all of
their classes online. They currently offer over 90
courses. These courses are offered throughout the
year, including through out the summer. Students
must have their guidance counselor's permission to enroll
in these classes.
Dual Enrollment,
http://www.polk.edu/
- Through dual enrollment, students have
the opportunity to take up to two college classes a
semester. They remain students at their zoned high
school, taking classes there and at Polk Community
College. These classes are free to the students and
there is a book lending program available to them at no
additional cost. Students can elect this option in
10th grade, taking no more than one class a semester and
11th and 12th grade, taking up to two. Students must
have their guidance counselor's permission to enroll in
these classes.
Collegiate High School,

- Collegiate High School is a school of
choice for students in 11th or 12th grade. There are
two in Polk County affiliated with Polk Community College,
one on their Winter Haven campus and one in Lakeland.
This school is entirely separate from the student's zoned
high school. Students take a combination of high
school and college level classes. All classes are
free to the students, but they obtain college credit while
taking them.
