Who are we?
Polk Community College International Circle is
an organization whose members represent diverse cultural and ethnic
groups brought together to explore various cultures of the world and
to introduce them to the college and local communities. We believe
that the true spirit of America and of its people, as well as its
uniqueness, are found in its cultural and ethnic diversity;
therefore, we consider introducing and learning about different
cultures to be one of our main priorities. Diversity of the members'
backgrounds contributes substantially to the success of the club.
What do we do?
We currently hold meetings once a month for
members and once a month with officers. The general meetings are held on both campuses and linked via live
interactive television. The use of this technology allows members
and guests to attend the meetings on either campus, making it easier
for those who commute. The officer meetings are arranged each
semester as needed for location. Additional meetings may
be scheduled for special events, such as guest
speakers.
Besides our regular meetings, we have numerous
activities outside the college. See our recent
activities page or our upcoming
events page for more information.
Who is welcome?
Absolutely everyone. You do not need to be a
PCC student or faculty member to become a member; you do not need to
be a member to attend meetings. Simply show up and bring an open
mind.
Where and when do we meet?
Meetings are listed on our upcoming
events page. They are held in the television studios at each
campus, located at:
- Winter Haven campus: WFA 117
- Lakeland campus: LLC 2297-2298
