Polk Community College offers
the following Student Outreach Programs:
Upward Bound Program
Mission Statement: The Upward
Bound project of Polk Community College is designed to prepare students
in grades 9 through 12 for success in their education beyond high
school. Upward Bound will accomplish this goal by assisting four
targeted schools (Frostproof middle-Senior High, Haines City High,
Lake Wales High, and Winter Haven High) in their effort to develop
the academic and motivational potential of students who are interest
in pursuing a college degree.

- CROP Program - College Reach-Out
Program
- The College Reach-Out Program (CROP)
is a state-sponsored educational program established by the legislature
to identify, motivate, and prepare students to complete high school
and enter postsecondary institutions. CROP is funded by the Department
of Education (DOE), through the Office of Postsecondary Education
Coordination.

- The student participants are:
- -in grades six through twelve
- -those who would benefit from structured
motivational programs; and
- -prospective first generation college
students.
