





Early Admissions & Dual Enrollment Program
Who is Eligible?
The Dual Enrollment program is an opportunity for acceleration for academically
advanced high school students to earn college credits and high school credits at
the same time. The dual enrollment program has two categories in which to
enroll. The Early Admission program is open to scholastically advanced
seniors in public, private and home schools to complete their senior year at
Polk Community College as a full-time student. The Dual Enrollment
program is open to academically talented sophomores, juniors, or seniors in
public, private and home schools. Sophomores may take one class per semester,
juniors may take two classes per semester and seniors may take up to 11 credit
hours per semester.
How to Qualify?
Early Admission
is open to high school seniors with a cumulative unweighted grade point average
of 3.20. To be eligible Early Admission students must also pass all sections of
the ACT, SAT or the Common Placement Test (CPT) and must have earned a B or
better in a high school math course at Algebra II level or higher.
Dual Enrollment is open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who have a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.0. Dual Enrollment students must pass the sections of the ACT, SAT or College Placement Test that corresponds to the courses in which the students wish to enroll. Passing the Reading and English sections of the ACT, SAT or CPT is required for any college level course that requires reading and writing skills. Passing the Elementary Algebra is necessary to be eligible for any course with entry-level math skills required. Passing the College Level Math section is required for any math course higher than College Algebra.
How to Apply?
All students must complete the Polk Community Dual Enrollment application for admission. Additional requirements needed are dependent on where the student goes to school. Applications can be downloaded from the links on this page or may be obtained from your high school counselor or from either PCC campus.
Public School Students: Link

and submit to your high school counselor for approval. You may also get this
application for dual enrollment from the high school guidance office or from
either PCC campus.
Private School Students: Link to Private School Dual Enrollment application Students may print both this page and the Dual Enrollment application above, complete and submit to PCC. The private school application must be approved by your school counselor and principal. You may also get this application from either PCC campus.
Home school Students: Link to Home School Agreement application Completed agreement must be approved by the parent responsible for the home education and returned to the Coordinator of Testing and Special Programs on either campus.
