Public Service Scholarships are awarded to high school juniors to perform services
during their senior year in high school in representing Polk
Community College to their fellow students. In addition, the
recipient must serve as a PCC Ambassador while attending Polk
Community College.
Applicants must attend a regionally
accredited Polk County high school and have a weighted GPA of
2.75 or higher at the end of their junior year in high school.
Recipients will assist with recruitment and serve as Polk Community
College ambassadors while they are in high school. While attending
PCC, the Public Service Scholar will participate in various activities
and have responsibilities as designated by the Director of Student
Services.
The scholarship is for the amount
of college credit course fees to a maximum of sixty (60) credit
hours. Award must be used within three (3) years for courses
required to complete the recipient's declared program of study.
The award may be used in any
College term so long as the recipient continues eligibility by
maintaining a "Good Academic Standing" status according
to the College's "Standards of Academic Progress." |
