Looking for an Opinion?

How to Find an Article

Where to Begin?

1. Think about a topic that interests you, something you will enjoy reading about.

Several possible topics have been listed in you text book. These topics are very general in nature so you may want to think about a smaller topic within the general categories listed.

For example:
For the topic of sex education (should or should not be taught in schools), perhaps you could find an article on the distribution of birth control information in high schools.

* Check at the Circulation desk in the library for a folder of articles  for you to use.

2. Each of the topics listed below has a suggestion for locating articles with an opinion for or against.

The blue titles listed below are titles of books in the library that contain articles (reprinted in book form for your convenience). Each book contains several articles. Use the table of contents in the front of the book to locate the article you would like to use. Click on the information link for each book to find the book's location in the library.

There are other articles from magazines cited for you too. There are many many more out there waiting for you. You can find them by using the Academic Search Premier  and Custom Newspaper databases.
