Mission Statement:
The
mission of the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety is to
provide professional and responsible training and educational programs
to law enforcement, corrections and correctional probation officers.
Officers are trained to deliver the highest quality services to all
citizens. This is accomplished through a partnership between the
Institute, Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission,
Florida Department of Law Enforcement, local, regional and state
agencies.
Core Values:
INTEGRITY: Integrity is the very foundation of our core ethics and
shall be exhibited in every aspect of our professional and personal
lives. We will be honest, competent and consistent in our beliefs and
actions.
RESPECT: We shall consistently demonstrate tolerance, civility and
fairness when dealing with the students, local, regional, state agencies
and each other. Our reputation is dependent upon our ability to operate
free from prejudice and favoritism in all situations. We shall remain
cognizant of the fact that many judge our institute by the actions of
one individual; therefore, we shall always conduct ourselves in a manner
that ensures respect for all our employees, our students, and client
agencies. We will promote a climate of mutual trust and respect.
SELF-DISCIPLINE: The element of self-discipline is critical to the
Institute’s training experience. Self-discipline provides us with the
deep inner desire needed to focus on our goals. Our efforts,
determination and sacrifice help us reach our highest goals.
SERVICE: We have dedicated ourselves to providing professional training
and educational programs to law enforcement, corrections, and
correctional probation officers so that they might deliver the highest
quality services to the citizens.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountability is the hallmark of the Institute of
Public Safety. We will hold ourselves accountable to the highest
standards of professionalism through moral and ethical conduct,
integrity, mutual trust and respect. |
