I
have been teaching physics and physical sciences for more than
15 years. Most of it was west of 100 degrees West Meridian. Ive
been in many natural disasters including super typhoons in the
Pacific, triple hurricanes in Polk County 2004, Northridge Earth
Quake January 1994, Southern California wild fires, Los Angeles
smog, Colorado snow blizzards, etc. Its one thing to see
the tornado warning on TV, but its truly an unforgettable
experience to be outside in the middle of a supercell thunderstorm
in the plains of Colorado! I also witness many awesome lightning
storms both here in Florida and in Colorado. Humans are no match
for Nature. Perhaps thats why we always try to run or hide
from it. While cosmology and strangeness of quantum physics intrigue
me, my main teaching interest is in global changes and human
impacts on the earth, particularly issues of sustainability and
eco
footprints. My hope is that a better world for future generation
can be had if the current generation is educated enough to start
caring. |
