FNSA

PSC's Florida Nursing Student Association (FNSA) is a constituent of the State and National Student Nurses Association.  FNSA focuses on professional development, community outreach and networking. Florida has 3,000+ active members and is usually ranked # 1 nationally!  All Nursing students are eligible to join. FREE FNA (Florida Nurses Association) and ANA (American Nurses Association) membership upon graduation- a $418.50 value!  Nursing graduates (who are current FNSA members) receive the first year of FNA (Florida Nurses Association) and ANA (American Nurses Association) membership FREE and the second year at half price, among other benefits!  FNA and ANA are dedicated to promoting high quality healthcare and a healthy, prosperous work environment for every nurse in the nation.  For more information please go to www.floridanurse.org/

Congratulations to PSC FNSA members for earning the National award for their website- www.pscfnsa.com!

The 15th Annual PCC Nursing Open House was held Thursday, March 5th, on the Winter Haven campus.  Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate PCC Nursing!  Several hundred guests attended. The event was educational and fun for all ages.

 Congratulations to the 100 PCC Nursing Students who attended the FNSA State Convention in Daytona Beach and earned several state awards including 1st Place-  "Chapter of the Year" (for the second year in a row!) Congratulations to Schevon Pierre and Sarah Linck (PCC students) who were elected as FNSA State Officers. We are PROUD of YOU!

The August, 2008 Nursing I class project earned First Place in the "Convention Theme Related Project" category! The winning group members were: Mindy Bunn, Renee Pasquino, Robin Spangler and Phillip Parker. Congratulations to our future nurses!

 PCC also earned First Place in the Healthy Heart Promotion category.  Sarah Linck (Class of May, 2009) received 1st Place in the BTN (Recruitment) category and received the Jennifer Williams Award for CAPS (Children's vision screening).  Mrs. Toni Linck received the faculty award for her dedication CAPS (Children's Vision Screening).  Dr. Annette Hutcherson was nominated for Outstanding Nursing Director.  Mrs. Lisa Stadelbacher (Nursing IV Faculty) was nominated in the Community Outreach category for her commitment to the Migrant Head Start Program in Wahneta.

100 PSC Nursing students, faculty and Phi Theta Kappa members formed the "Operation Pink" team in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk in Lakeland Oct. 20, 2008.

Plan to "Go Pink" for the Oct. 17, 2009 event! Everyone is welcome to join in!
