1106 Supporting ResourcesThe following list of supporting resources is not exhaustive; it is intended to serve as a beginning for students needing additional resources for this course.

MyMathLab has a wide variety of resources available for the student including all homework available online, the complete textbook available online, as well as video tutorials for each section of the textbook. You will need the access key that came with your textbook along with our course ID, which is polk33603. You may want to view and/or print the MyMathLab instructions which will walk you through the registration process.
Computer Software:
Computer software packages are available in the Teaching Learning
Computing Centers (TLCC) on both campuses. For selected topics,
computer software may be assigned and/or required. These assignments
will count as quiz or homework grades as specified by the instructor.
Software is also available for tutorial assistance. Students should
ask their instructor about what is available for their course
as new packages are continually being purchased.
TI-83 Calculator Materials:
These TI-83
materials,
developed by PCC Math Professor Lamar
Middleton, provide some basic instruction in the use of this
powerful mathematical tool.
Supplements for the Student:
1) "Steps to Success" videotapes present comprehensive coverage of each section of the text in a student-interactive format. The lecturers' presentations include examples and problems from the text and support an approach that emphasizes visualization and problem solving.
2) Audio tapes are designed to lead students through the material in each section. The videotapes and audio tapes are available for use in the TLCC on both campuses and can be copied for home use.
3) InterAct Math Tutorial Software is networked and available for use in the TLCC on both campuses. The software is copyable. Students should check with their instructor concerning software copies.
Student Help:
Your instructor is available for help and counseling during
posted office hours and by appointment during other non-class
hours. You are encouraged to seek assistance from the instructor.
Tutorial help is available in the TLCCs on both campuses. The
schedule for tutors is posted in the TLCCs and printed in the
Orange and Green after the first week of classes. The schedule
is also available from your instructor. Students are encouraged
to make use of the services of the tutors.
PCC Libraries:
The PCC Libraries
exist to provide the students, faculty and staff of Polk Community
College with academic support.
TLCCs:
The TLCCs
on both campuses have a wide variety of tutoring and software
available for students (see above).
