DRESS CODES FOR CLASSROOM

OTA Students

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Program patch
  • Neutral color sneakers/shoes. Sandals or clogs are not allowed
  • Name tag
  • Minimal jewelry (no dangling earrings or bracelets)
  • Minimal make-up
  • Minimal perfume
  • Groomed hair
  • Short nails
  • Hats are not allowed

DRESS CODES FOR THE LAB

  • Neutral color sneakers/shoes. Sandals or clogs are not allowed
  • Exercise or biking shorts (mid-thigh or knee-length) and leotards may be required for Anatomy & Kinesiology courses
  • Long hair needs to be secured in a pony tail
  • Name tag
  • Minimal jewelry (no dangling earrings or bracelets)
  • Minimal make-up
  • Minimal perfume
  • Short nails
  • Hats not allowed

Note: These guidelines apply to the OTA program and were developed with input from students. Some clinical settings may require a different dress code. The purpose of dress codes is to assist each student to learn and adopt the professional appearance enforced in the clinical settings, and develop professional behaviors necessary for a successful career in healthcare.
