Title:                      SALT DRAWING WITH WATERCOLOR

 

Grade Level:          Pre-K – 6

 

Objectives:            Fine motor skill development, creativity, color recognition

 

Materials:              White Glue

                                Heavy white paper

                                Salt

                                Watercolors

                               

 

Procedure:

1.

Draw with the glue on the white paper.  Create a series of patterns and designs.  Leave some space between the designs so the glue doesn’t run together.

2.

Before the glue dries, sprinkle table salt onto the glue.

3.

Allow the glue to dry completely on a flat surface.

4.

Paint the designs with watercolor.

5.

Allow to dry completely on a flat surface.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Evaluation:            Discuss the designs made and how the watercolor interacts with the salt crystals.
