Title: DRAWING/PAINTING SKILLS – Marble Painting
Blizzard Snowman
Grade Level: Pre-K – 6
Objectives: Fine motor skill development, creativity, follows directions
Materials: Blue Construction Paper - 9X12"
Scraps of white and other color construction paper
White Tempera paint
Small bowl, box lid, trays with edges
Spoon
Marble or small balls – golf balls work well
Shallow box/box lid at least 9x12"
Procedure: 1. Cover table with newspaper
2. Tear the white paper scraps to make a snowman. Add other details with color paper.
3. Glue snowman and other details (trees) to the blue background paper.
4. Put paper into box/lid
5. Pour a small amount of paint into bowl and place marble into paint
6. Carefully lift marble out of paint and place it on paper in box
7. Lift box and gently roll marble around paper
8. Repeat until desired blizzard effect is achieved
Evaluation: Discuss the designs made; discuss the process used to create the design.
