Title:                       COLOR THEORY – Karo syrup and Food color

 

Grade Level:          Pre-K – 6

 

Objectives:            Fine motor skill development, creativity, follows directions

 

Materials:              Paper plates

                                Karo syrup

                                Food color

                                                               

Procedure:             1.             Cover table with newspaper

2.                    Pour 2 capfuls of karo syrup onto the center of the plate.

3.                    Place 1-2 drops of RED, YELLOW, and BLUE food color onto different places on the plate.

4.                    Twist and turn the plate to mix up the 3 colors and create new colors.

5.                    Allow the syrup to dry overnight.

 

Evaluation:            Discuss the designs made; discuss the process used to create new colors.
