Materials for each group: 1
fraction kit, graph paper and colored pencils or crayons
(available from Jean
Reynolds)
Getting started
On the graph paper, have students draw squares 10 boxes wide
and 10 boxes across. Explain to students that each square represents
100%. Groups will need several of these squares. (Suggestion:
The instructor can make a template ahead of time and photocopy
it so that groups have a small stack of squares to work with.)
