Biography

Ana Maria Myers

Degrees, major(s), and institution: B.A. French, Indiana University; M.A. French Literature, Illinois State University; M.A. Counseling Psychology, University of Central Florida.

Professional Awards and Publications: NISOD Excellence Award l996; Who's Who, 1996, 1998.

Teaching philosophy: I hope to inspire students to put on wings, and to guide, support and encourage them as they take flight.

Family data: Husband, Richard L. Myers, retired educator. Son George A. Long IV, Financial Consultant First Union Banks. Daughter Chrissanne Long, FSU graduate, December 1998.

Interests: Cuba, Reading, Writing, Music, Travel, FSU football, Indiana basketball.

Travels: Taking students abroad is a very rewarding experience. I've been doing this since 1985, and we've visited Spain, Morocco, France, England, Switzerland, Italy and Mexico. We started a travel/study class at PCC last year, and it proved to be very popular with students and community. For our second excursion, we're planning to visit Switzerland, Austria and Germany in 1999.
