Professor for PCC.
Degrees, Majors, Certifications and Institutions:
B.A. in Secondary Education-English from Southeastern
College. M.A. in Applied Linguistics/English as
a Second Language from the University of South
Florida. Florida teaching certification in English
(6-12) and ESOL (K-12).
Publications: I assisted the production of The
ABC Handbook, a resource book written in eight
languages to be used as a resource to assist the
Polk County school system in communication with
limited English proficient students and their
families.
Experience: I have taught English to hundreds
of limited English proficient students from more
than 60 countries over the past 20 years. I have
visited Europe and South America. I have also
taught composition at the college level for the
past 20 years as an adjunct. I enjoy linguistics,
and have studied the structure of more than 20
languages. I have served as an adjunct instructor
for linguistics and ESOL classes for pre-service
teachers at the University of South Florida and
as an ESOL resource teacher and facilitator for
Polk County teachers in the K-12 school system.
Interests: I love my wife and five daughters with
all my heart. I have very little money, but I
am a wealthy man because of them. I also love
to read, study the Bible, worship, and play soccer
and basketball. I have a passion for the field
of ESOL as well.
