Polk Community College, located in Central Florida, is seeking applications for an experienced administrator to serve as the Director of Information Systems. This is a responsible, administrative and managerial position reporting to the Vice President for Administration/CFO. This leadership position is responsible for activities related to the operating systems & applications software, network and telecommunications services, and managing the College datacenter.
Responsibilities include: Preparation of annual plans for Information Systems, correlation of activities with goals of other departments’ requests, establishing priorities & evaluating technology usage. Administration of the data communication network to ensure secure & reliable access by authorized personnel. Manage college computing, negotiate and recommend service agreements & technical contracts. Work closely with College Instructional technology & serves as the College’s chief information security officer.
Qualifications include: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a field closely related to the information technology discipline. Six (6) years experience in information technology; with at least half in operations & half in management. Broad exposure across multiple information technology disciplines.
